Proposed is a new ground floor single storey rear extension, a new loft conversion and internal refurbishment works. Upon initial site visit and inspection, the existing building was not occupied and was in need major refurbishment to resurrect the property’s character.

The new proposed layout was intended to transform the existing property into a new modern and open living space finished to a high specification. By demolishing existing structures (e.g. load bearing masonry walls) at ground floor enabled the architect to design a space that is airy, bright and full of light whilst maintaining key features of the original building.

The existing roof was removed and replaced with a new loft conversion design out steel beams with infilled timbers joists. This choice of material for the new structures provided a feasible design that the client’s budget whilst maintaining.

All parties involved within this delivery for project were involved from an early stage and meetings carried out at particular stages ensured unforeseen issues that occurred were efficiently resolved in fast and timely manners without compromising the client’s budget, or architect’s and structural designs and ensuring the appointed contractor’s program times were not being delayed.
