The client’s brief was to have a new loft conversion. The proposal was to remove the existing roof structure and install a structure that can provide a structurally adequate loft space. To achieve this structural design, we introduced new steel beams within the loft floor with timber joists. The new roof structure was constructed out of timber. Choosing to use these materials for this new construction made the construction process speedy for the appointed contractor whilst achieving a structural design that was feasible for the client.
