The client’s brief and intentions were to open up their existing space at the rear of their ground floor. The proposal was to demolish loading bearing perimeter walls on one side and introduce a new single storey side extension. Also an addition of a ground floor water closet was to be added on the opposite side of the ground floor.
To make this space achievable to the client, we designed foundations, new support structures (e.g. new steel columns and new steel beams) to support retained building above. With an agreed delivery date for the structural design, we produced a structural design that met the client’s requirements and it was delivered on time.
