The client’s brief and intentions is for a new single storey side extension, and new loft conversion. By introducing new space within the existing building, this allow for the family to be more efficient by meeting the needs of a growing family. Some of the requirements for this family home is to have an additional bedroom which is in the loft space and new water closet (W.C). Within the new ground floor side extension will be a gym/games room and a new ground floor W.C.
With early discussions with the architect, we produced a new structural design that met the client’s needs and budget yet as well as providing a structure that did not disrupt the architect’s proposal for maximising on space, light and views.
